SHAVANO PARK

After viewing with a potential buyer, I reimagined how to address opportunities to unify the home’s architectural expression. My solution provides a compelling indoor-outdoor solution, maximizing Shavano Park’s iconic Live Oak trees.

the beginning

The guest wing is separated from the flow of the home, with access only from the exterior or garage. This presents an opportunity to unify the spaces, with a simple adjustment to the plan. The gallery at the primary suite is an inspiration for how this can be realized.

The Transformation

By creating an additional interior gallery, I would connect the guest rooms to the interior circulation of the house by reorganizing the butler’s pantry. Importantly, site lines are maximized with multiple views to the exterior. There would be the opportunity for a 50 foot lap pool and 10’ x 10’ jacuzzi. Guest Room 2 can serve as a pool lounge as it already has a shower and kitchenette.
